Winning the silver medal means she secured the second Olympic quota place for Australia in this event. Teammate Catherine Skinner had already won a quota at the 2014 ISSF world champs in Granada.
Scanlan: “It feels great to win an Olympic quota! Hopefully I will go to Rio, and maybe I will win a medal there too.”
“We did not really stop training over the Christmas: it’s summer in Australia, and we kept on shooting. That definitely helped me to finish on the podium today, it made me more confident in going into this event.”
