The 2015 season for Caroline Buchanan kicked off with a bang winning the first round in Manchester, England.
Throughout the five stops of the World Cup series the riders where challenged with huge winds and storms at 60% of the rounds making it a physically and mentally challenging season.
The weather throughout the series saw all the riders step up to the plate and deliver performances unseen throughout past seasons.
The rain refused to let up in Rock Hill South Carolina USA for the last stop of the series throughout the entire race program, but once again the multi million-dollar track demonstrated what money can buy, holding up remarkably in the deluge to deliver world class racing much to the delight of the brave fans in attendance and the massive number of live viewers.
Buchanan’s highlight of the season was winning back to back World Cups in Manchester with the low point crashing out in the semi-final in Sweden.
Rounding out the final series in Rockhill South Carolina saw more bad weather with five days of rain. Buchanan was looking to perform at the last round and get on the podium.
Feeling the best she had all year, Buchanan won all her mottos and beat the current World Champion in the semi-final.
In the final it was bar to bar competition down the first straight. The Olympic Champion Mariana Pajon and Alise Post came together in the first turn causing a crash.
Buchanan tried to get out in front and out of trouble like she had been all night but ended up rounding out the final in 6th position and taking the overall 4th place in the World Cup series.
“I’m excited for the 2016 season as I feel I have room to improve on this season and it’s only up towards to the Olympics #RoadToRio,” she said.
